If you are not currently a student at UoN, you are required to pay a NUsport membership fee of $90 for external members or $65 for UoN graduates, other university graduates or staff members.
This fee has been included in your NUBC membership and will be paid to NUsport by NUBC.

Notes:
- For those wishing to compete you will need to be a member of RNSW. RNSW Membership fees are not included in your NUBC membership fee. Members can purchase RNSW membership directly from RNSW here. You will need to login to RNSW with your previous login/password however if you do not have one you can sign up as a new member and if you have been a member previously you can click recover password follow the prompts.
- For social members we recommend you become a member of RNSW to take advantage of their insurance policy with covers you for both training and racing and even attending or volunteering at Rowing NSW sanctioned events. The Rowing NSW insurance program has been specifically designed to cater to our rowing community to protect you when something does not quite go to plan. Insurance coverage is only valid after your membership has been renewed. It is a small fee currently $25 for peace of mind!
- Memberships may be upgraded to competitive by paying the difference in fees during the year, contact treasurer@nubc.info to arrange this.

Prospective Members
Prospective members may be required to undertake an on-water assessment to evaluate safety and competency. NUBC expects a high level of independence and sufficiency from all members. Applicants who do not satisfy the competency requirements are invited to apply for the NUBC Learn to Row Program.
Please understand that completion of this form does not guarantee acceptance of membership. Membership will not become active until the appropriate fees have been paid and the Exec have accepted your application.
Under 18 years of age
Unfortunately persons under the age of 18 are not permitted to become members of the Club as per NUsport's Clubs Administration Resource Book (CARB).
Disclaimer
By completing and submitting an application for membership with Newcastle University Boat Club, the applicant agrees:
- To abide by the Newcastle University's Code of Conduct.
- That in applying for membership with Newcastle University Boat Club, they recognise that there are risks associated with the aquatic environment and the sport of rowing (as per risk warning available from Rowing NSW)
- That they are of good health and able to participate in activities in the aquatic environment. This includes being able to swim at least 100 meters in full rowing gear.
- Acknowledges that the Club has an age requirement of 18 years and older.
- To abide by the rules and guidelines of Newcastle University Boat Club and Rowing N.S.W. and are aware of no reason for which they would not be entitled to join the Newcastle University Boat Club.
Newcastle University Boat Club recommends that you also apply for a membership with Rowing NSW whether that be a social or competitive member. This will ensure you are cover by insurance whilst you are training and racing. See below extract from RNSW website or visit their website for membership fees and more information.
